R. Alexander Johnson

R. Alexander Johnson is a seventh (7th) generation Sevier Countian.  He joined the law firm of Johnson, Murrell & Associates in 2007 after graduating from the University of Tennessee College of Law. In law school Alex was a member of the 2006 and 2007 Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition where he was recognized in the top five (5) orators in the Southeastern Region.  Additionally, he was elected to the University of Tennessee Order of the Coif Legal Honor Society in 2007.

Prior to law school, Alex received his M. Litt in International Security Studies from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.  He is also a graduate of Emory & Henry College, in Emory, Virginia where he completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with a double major in Political Science and Philosophy and graduated magna cum laude.  He was recognized as the Outstanding Philosophy Student his senior year at Emory & Henry.  In addition to his studies, he was a three year letter winner on the Emory & Henry varsity soccer squad.

Alex is the Chairman of the Leadership Tomorrow Advisory Board as well as a Board Member for Leadership Sevier. He also serves as Chairman for the Sevierville Commons Association and is a Member of the Board of Directors for the United Way of Sevier County. He is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and is an officer for the Sevier County Bar Association.
